Last part of my Designer's Mystery BOM 2010: binding. Focus seems to be the keyword here. Hope I can keep it up (o:

I have also started my Designer's Mystery BOM 2011. First block. I am going to call it a Pip, since I started receiving the blocks in June 2011. It's once again so much fun to make! And, I decided to save the HST scraps. The fabric is too pretty, to just throw away.
Dit blok is weer zo leuk to maken!

This is the start of a bag my 11 year old niece is making. It is one of Stephanie's patterns of Loft Creations, Oak Park. She took the fabrics from a jelly roll and realized that making a nice balance is not so easy. She did have lots of fun doing it though and it was the first time she worked on a sewing machine. Unfortunately, my niece lives a few hours away from us, so we'll have to plan our next meeting soon.

Your niece has terrific taste and I'm sure it's exciting for you to help her sew. Looking forward to seeing the finished bag. Your Christmas quilt is gorgeous!!!
I made a drawstring bag for my hair rollers when I started college... I won't say how long ago that was - I'm in complete denial. I will say it's more than 2 decades. I still have it, it still works. A bag is a good starting project. A good memory, too. Thanks for evoking it.
Hugs,

Love your Pip! You're really on a roll! Your niece is doing a good job on that bag! Nice colours. I am still working on a couple of Oak Park bags that I should have had done for Christmas.
You have such pretty Pips! Keep up the good work! :0)
Your niece is only 11? She is doing a great job! Her corners line up very well. Tell her that we're all excited to see what she is doing.
I have no doubt you'll be able to maintain your focus!
You are setting such a good example with your PIPs! It is great that you are teaching your niece to sew; it may mean the beginning of a long career as a quilter!
