My first Le Petite project

This is my first Le Petite project, Schnibbles Paganini by Carrie Nelson.
This is my first solid quilt I made ever since I started quilting.
This is the first time I ironed all my seams open and I think it looks much better and is easier to work with.
I am not yet sure, if I am going to add a black border to the quilt or leave it as it is. What do you think?

I made a mobile cover to Laura's computer cover that I showed you last week. This is the backside of the computer cover that I forgot to show last time. I especially like the 'I want candy' part (o:

And this is the mobile cover I made for my SIL. I especially chose this fabric for her, because she lives close to nature. I you open it, the bird and owl appear again.

Over the past few weeks I have been working on the Stitching for Christmas BOW. They are lots of fun to make, but difficult to catch up with, since every is a new block every Friday. I added a block that is not in this BOW, but I liked it so much, that I am not sure which one I will keep out.

Make a nest of pleasant thoughts.

groetjes, Dorien

Wow. I love the solids in the quilt. It is stunning.

I'd personally look at on of the darker colours for an outer border. I just like the way something darker frames the quilt. How are you going to quilt it?

Anoniem zei

Your Paganini with solids is really wonderful and I love your redwork with this beautiful background. Hugs

With those solid fabrics, your quilt looks a bit like an Amish quilt. I think a black border might be the perfect finish for it. I've been thinking about pressing my seams open too but I havent' tried it yet. In the old days that's all we used to do.

Great finishes - I love the Paganini quilt top. The colors are so pretty.

Great Schnibbles! I haven't made a solid color quilt yet and may have to try one sometime after seeing yours. A black border would make the quilt darker and maybe "heavier" looking. I like it how it is now and maybe use one of the darker colors for binding. Just a thought. Great little projects for electronics too. You have been busy!

I love your little Schnibbles quilt. I think that the black may just finish it off nicely. Glad to see the BOW embroideries. I haven't started mine yet.

Your Le Petit Project looks so effective! The solids were the perfect choice.

Love the moose mobile cover - such cute fabric.

I've been ironing some seams open and I think I'm going to start doing more of it. Everything seems to flow smoother and my blocks certainly lay more flatly.

All of your seams are SO perfect!

Leuk geworden, Simone!

Fijne dag.

Hello Simone,

Lovely solid quilt, it reminds me so much of the Amish. I think a black border would suit it perfectly. I really liked the quote on this post.
Pleasant thoughts.
Happy days.

I just love your first Le Petite project! Those solids look great - so bright and colourful. The Christmas stitchery is so cute. I checked the links and fleetingly thought about joining in, but I have way too many projects already and I should finish some more before I start anything new. But I will be watching your blog for your progress.

Leuke stitchery!

Your Paganini is soooo calm, although there are so many colours. I think black binding will add more steadiness on it. Your redworks are cute too!

Love your quilt in the solid fabrics. I think black would be excellent to use for the border.
Great little covers.
I am off to check the BOW. Cute.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

What a lovely computer bag. You are a great mum Simone. I hope Laura loves what you made for her. I have never iron the seams open. It looks good from the back. I might try it sometimes - hugs Nat

Have you done the boarder yet?

Ummm I am not sure if it should be black. white or one of the colours.... HARD one.

Liebe Simone,
LG, Jutta

Hi Simone,

I would put black binding on the quilt to finish it off, but thats me :)
Love the cover you made for your SIL.

Lovely Christmassy stitcheries. Love the slogan on the laptop case. I hope it made her smile.

Fun mobile phone cases too.

In dressmaking you iron the seams open so the clothing will lay flat. It was what I tried to do with quilting until I was taught that you didn't have to. I think it works better with this pattern though or you would get a clump in some areas. Great idea to iron open Simone.

Really really love how the plains in those colors make that schnibbles pop. It really is an eye catcher.
