Modern Mini Quilt Challenge

Today I finished my mini quilt for the Modern Mini Quilt Challenge. I was inspired by the Inspiration Weeks' Blog Hop, hopping to Annabella's Life's Rich Pattern post. Never had I heard of the Gee's Bend Quilts, but seeing this and original Gee's Bend Quilts and it's history, I was immediately inspired! This quilt is the result.
For this quilt, I didn't use a ruler nor a rotary cutter. A real challenge and oh so fun!

I think it's a perfect representative for a modern quilt challenge!!! Gorgeous... and the colours are so stylish. Did you quilt it by hand with the variegated thread?
