No Wednesday flower today

Today my dear (blogging)friend Jos came to visit me. Look at the cutest little pincushion mouse she made for me. Would you stick needles in a cute little guy like this? No I wouldn't either. So, it will keep me company when I work on my stitcheries =) Such a very lovely sweet surprise, dear Jos! Thank you so much!
Well, Jos wanted to see my pictures from our visit to the States. And what did we notice when she left after a few hours. Right - we didn't even have time to take a look at the pictures. We were so busy chatting, admiring each others work, that we forgot all about it.
See you soon again, Jos, so we can look at the pictures!

Dus Jos, kom snel weer langs.

This week Ger and I took early morning walks, so that it wasn't too warm for Bibi. Normally he doesn't join me, but since I don't like walking alone at 6.30 am, he joins me =)
When you look at the pictures below, you might not think that the houses are so special. But what is special about them, is that Ger and I have lived in this region for over 20 years and we have never seen this little place before. It is only 5 minutes away from us. We were really surprised!

We waren helemaal verbaasd!

Another morning we walked through the woods nearby and our passage was blocked by this fallen tree. It is a large beech tree, that probably lost its grip when it rained so hard. Look at the bottom foto on the left. There you can see how shallow the roots are to hold a big tree like this.

When taking walks through the southern part of Limburg, you will often find crosses as seen on the picture below left. You cannot see it on this picture, but the cross is surrounded by flowers and candles. I don't know which bush has these white flowers. They had a very flowery sweet smell. On the tree you can see walnuts that I pass when I take my walk with Bibi. I call it my tree, because I am always able to pick many walnuts from the ground in the fall.

"The future is not some place we are going to,
but one we are creating.
The paths are not to be found, but made,
and the activity of making them,
changes both the maker and the destination."

Very cute mouse! I'm always to see old, majestic trees fallen. But what a surprise to see a house you've never seen before.

What a sweet little mouse! I see things every now and then that I've driven by for years and just never took the time to notice!

Sounds like you had a terrific visit with your friend. There is always next Wednesday to make some more flowers. I love the photos of the area where you live. I think the white flowered bush might be 'mock orange'. They have a delicious fragrance, much like orange blossoms. Oh! Almost forgot. The pincushion mouse is adorable. I don't think I could stick pins into it either.

Hello Simone, a cute pinchsion to sit and watch you stitch. Thank you for the tour around your area. Gosh that tree was huge. Lucky you to be able to pick your own walnuts. Hope Jos comes to visit soon so she can see your US photo's. Happy days.

What a cute pincushion. No I woudn't have the heart to use him either.

Thanks for taking me on your walk with you. So beautiful and serene at that hour. I think the plant is a Philadelphus - Mock Orange. I have a couple in the garden here where it flowers in June. Further South it flowers in May. Love the smell. It's used to make orange flower water for flavoured icing I think.

Liebe Simone ,

Simone, hoffentlich klappt mein zweiter Versuch:
Jutta
