Spring sewing party

Early this afternoon after a good lunch, I started working on the Spring Sewing Party, that Kelly organized. I must say it is fun and encouraging, knowing that people are working together with you all over the world. Some might be sleeping already, their day being over, while others just started. A good way to get to know other bloggers too (O:
While I was working, I listened to the CD New Moon (Twilight Saga) over and over again. I just love the music!

I had some squares cut for two baby quilts that I am making for a friend of my mother, who will soon be a grandmother of twins. I was able to finish 14 blocks! And these are so my colors! The little farm creatures are very cute!

Then, Melanie and I planned to make a tablerunner for each season. In between we will make other projects too, but the tablerunners already have a date set to be finished.
I did the cutting today, but did some wrong counting. That way I ended up not having enough for the background. So I had to sew together some pieces, as the one on the bottom right It turned out alright after using them. Pfew.

I used the Spring Magic line which has been waiting to be used for a long time! The colors are so nice and soft and it all matches perfectly! Melanie designed this pattern for us! She is very talented in many many different ways. I finished 4 of the 8 blocks, but won't show them to you. It will stay a suprise until the March 21.

After working on the tablerunner, I decided to finish the fourth block of the Pennsylvania Dutch quilt. The blocks are so simple and fast to make. The fifth will be coming soon (that is, I hope it will, if it doesn't get stuck with customer duties, as many of my packages have lately )O: I have read that many Dutch women are complaining about this. They think they have somebody working there now, to check all those cosy and soft packages.

So, these were my 'finishes' of the Saturday Sewing Party. I will now go over to the other quilters who have joined this fun and see what they have been up to.
Have a lovely Saturday evening and a sunny Sunday!

You've been busy!

I love seeing a bit of your sewing area. I see you have the standard quilt sizes in inches. I was at first surprised but then realized that you get so much of your fabric and patterns from online US shops. I love the fabrics you're using in your projects. I especially love the final block. Your points are perfect on those pin wheels!

What a wonderfully creative day you had! I am still at the fabric choosing stage for our Spring Table Runner/topper. Well done for getting so much done. Spring Magic is a gorgeous range.

I wonder if Holland is now classing fabric as potential land fill so is trying to discourage more coming into the country?

Love the cute animal blocks. How many blocks will the Pen Dutch Quilt have?
