Three years later

I finished my Pennsylvania Dutch. A big hurray!!! This is a PIP I'm really really proud of.
Three years ago I started it. I finished the top early this year, but I didn't have the courage to quilt it myself. It's 220 cm x 180 cm (perimeter: 8 m = 8 m of binding).
So, one day Jos was here and told me about Anne at Maple Leaf, who does long arm quilting. I am always happy to hear from others if they are happy with someone's work. And Jos of course was.
Anne really listens to her clients. I told her I didn't want the quilt to be quilted densely and Anne knew exactly what I meant.
Thank you Anne, for making the quilt even prettier!

Mijn Pennsylvania Dutch is af.

The quilt is for a dear friend of mine. I know she had to wait a long time, but I think it was worth the waiting.

 A close-up of the quilting.

In my previous post I told you about The Giving Heart. I stitched 5 cute 4" blocks. The patterns were kindly offered by Mollie. If you can find time, maybe you can stitch a block too.

In mijn vorige post heb ik jullie verteld over The Giving Heart.

Our Sunday morning walk. I took the top two pictures because the ducks there were making so much noice in the big puddle that was formed by the rain over the last two days.
Those mushrooms on the tree trunks were amazing to see.
And Bibi is still joining the fun on shorter walks now.

Onze zondagochtend wandeling.

Apart from the absolutly great fantastic quilt I love the quilting very much, because I also like this kind of quilting much more then quilting so densely.
You can be very proud on this marvellous quilt!!!!!!!!

Hello Simone,

A big cheer from Down Under for your finished quilt. I agree with you too much quilting detracts from the work you have put into it. The design you chose is perfect.

Lovely pictures of your walk.

Happy days.

I took photos at the weekend too, and hope to share those shortly. Happy Week, my friend ((HUGS))

Hi Simone,

Just-Do zei

Cuby zei

This quilt is a thing of great beauty. I used to make patchwork using traditional block patterns and I see bears paw here with others I recognise but have forgotten the names. Well done, as I know how many hours this must have consumed.
