A while back I joined a new challenge, that Melanie organized: Craft Olympic Athlete. I will be working on five techniques or projects that have either frustrated me in the past or that I fear start. You can read more about it here. Scroll all the way down
1. Paper piecing - Modern Alphabet by Tula Pink (= frustrating)
2. A bag with hexagons. Something like this.
3. Turn Needle Appliqué - I will try to make Kaaren's newest design.(= frustrating)
4. Modern quilting on Thijme's Stained Glass quilt (that I still have to finish ...) - (scary)
5. Sewing curves with the sewing machine - Mod Pop quilt (oh-oh)
I'll show you some pictures of the projects I started later this week.

1. Paper piecing - - Modern Alphabet by Tula Pink (=frustrerend)
2. Een tas van hexagons. Een beetje als deze.

You have me laughing with your "scary" and "uh oh". Best of luck with your challenge. Looking forward to seeing the results.
Good luck ( i like your categories). I'm working on my first one now. I picked an easy one to start with, just something I haven't done for a long time - wool.
You have listed such challenging projects! I will do the same needle turn appliqué after Kaaren's design but my other crafts will be easier than yours.
Love those projects even if they are somewhat scary. The hexagon bag looks interesting. Can't wait to see your finished projects!
have fun with these challenges.
Een hele lijst, ben benieuwd hoe het je afgaat. Ik wacht met spanning op de foto's
It looks as if you've set yourself some real challenges there. But I'm sure you'll sail through them easily. Lots of luck.
That's a great list of challenges, what fun! When I was trying to do needle turn and getting frustrated I came across this dvd by Piece O Cake Designs http://www.amazon.co.uk/Becky-Goldsmith-Linda-Jenkins-Applique/dp/B0016YWMLE/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1348745795&sr=1-1 and it was unvaluable. I watched it all the way through once and then started again but with needle, thread and fabric and toothpick in hand and before very long I was needle turning away very happily.
Oh Simone, you presented your challenge funny;o) I think you'll success fine and you'll win all five thimbles!!!
Hello Simone,
I am sure you will pass all these challenges with flying colours. Love the quote that so goes with the post.
happy days.
Bev.xoxo
You will do great with your challenges!
Very exciting list of to-makes, Simone, and nice variety to things to try. I'm doing quilting, knitting, crochet and making a softie--something I've not tried before. And I did some polymer clay for my first Thimble--also new to me and a lot of fun. Can't wait to see what you've been working on. Sorry so slow to visit/be in touch. Great to catch up with you! I've been offline a few days having some fun, just now surfacing! :o) Happy Weekend ((HUGS)) P.S. Love the quote you share today too.
Wishing you fun and good luck with your challenging projects! I'll be looking forward to seeing the results. Have a lovely weekend!
Very interesting...to do something you were not lucky with.
Will read more about this challenge...I am sure, I will find also methods, I don`t like very much..:-)
Best wishes
Iris
