Trying to get settled

It has been more than four weeks, that I last made a post on my blog. In the first two weeks of May, we visited my dear friend Louise in San José, near San Francisco. It was lovely to stay with Louise and visit her family. The weather was beautiful and we went to many wonderful places. Of course I was able to go to quite some quilt shops and I was able to buy many beautiful fabrics, notions and quilting books.
When we came back, there was still quite some work for me to get done, so I decided to finish most of it, before starting to quilt and blog again.
So here I am. I have not yet finished all the work I need to do, so I am not sure, I will be very active in blogging for a while. But, I do know one thing: I miss it!

Schnibbles - Scratch

This month we were allowed to choose a pattern from Carrie Nelson's wonderful new book "Schnibbels times two - quilts from 5" and 10" squares". I chose the pattern Scratch, the small quilt. It is once again a baby quilt, for another grandchild of a friend of my mother. So again, two projects in one. (The original colors are much prettier!)

Deze maand mochten we een patroon kiezen uit Carrie Nelson's geweldig nieuw boek "Schnibbels times two - quilts from 5" and 10" squares".

Pennsylvania Dutch block 7!

I love it!

A suprise win from Stephanie!

This week I received post from a very talented quilter and pattern writer! Stephanie wrote me that she had a silent giveaway and that I was the winner of her new pattern, Hailee Bag. I was going to make it this weekend, but time went much faster than I had expected. Yet, I chose the fabrics, which took me quite a while, so I hope to make it this week. I read through it and Stephanie did a wonderful job describing it. Even though I have difficulties making bags, this one should be a fun one to make for me! Have a look here for more of Stephanie's patterns.
In the picture you will also see a Japanese book with the most gorgeous little log cabin projects. It reminds me of Stephanie everytime I look in it. Among others by the way they choose their colors.

PINKPOP 2010

This is where hubby and daughter have been over the last 3 days. Many, many different concerts by many different artists. Not really my thing, even though I think I would have enjoyed John Mayer. But Ger and Laura's music is more like Rammstein. No thanks.

I love the picture of your family. I think that is the first I've seen of the men in your life. It looks like you had a wonderful time in California. I can't wait to see what you do with all your purchases.

I love the fabric you picked out for your bag. What fabric line is it? It's really cute!

It's good to read your blog again Simone, but I know what you mean about life getting in the way of blogging, I often feel the same. And sometimes you just want to get on and do things, not write about them.
