This and that and more

This week I finished my Spring tablerunner. Melanie made the pattern for these lovely tulips. I think it is very pretty and gives me a nice Spring and Easter feeling.

I vind het zelf erg mooi. Het geeft me een echt voorjaarsgevoel!

This is a picture of the back. I must say, I am quite satisfied with my quilting skills. I think it is the first time I did it this way.

I finished my 5th block for the Pennsylvania Dutch. I did quite some wrong cutting for this one and forgot to cut pieces. But it turned out nicely in the end. Seven more blocks to go. They are fun to make, because they are quite easy and the directions are very good.

This is my finished Sunday Best Schnibbles. Now that I finished it, I really like it after all. The borders give a good touch to this quilt.

Hier is mijn Sunday Best Schnibbles.

This is the second block of the Jelly Roll Sampler. I just love it! It gives me such a happy feeling, those colors.
Now, there is a nice story to this challenge. I told my dear friend Jutta, to join this challenge, since it is so much fun to do and the blocks are made fast. One every two weeks is certainly not trouble. This week, Jutta emailed me, telling me she would join, if I would let her teach me paper piecing. First I hesitated, since I am in to so much, but when she said we would make three blocks for an Easter wallhanging, how could I resist.
So now, Jutta already made her two JRS blocks and I ...

made my first two paper piecing blocks. Jutta did a great job, explaining me how to make the blocks. She added many pictures to it, so it was fun to make. The first block was a piece of cake but the second block was more difficult.
Now I will have to do some 'pimping'. Go to Jutta's blocks. She did a wonderful job!!!
Thank you, precious Jutta, for teaching me to paper piece like this in such a fun way!

Prachtig!

And look what I got in the post this week. Micki's handmade card. Istn't it just beautiful. Look at the envelope and the way it is closed with a ribbon! Micki has discovered one more of her talents.
Thank you very much, my dear friend Micki, for this wonderful suprise!!!

On Saturday we went to Amsterdam to visit Laura. So this time I will not show you pictures of Heerlen, but of the place where Laura lives. These pictures do not give you the traditional look of Amsterdam. It is a few kilometers from the center.
This is the building in which Laura has her studio. She lives on the inside of the building.

This is her post box ... (maybe you can send her a card? She loves international post!)

These are the numbers of the studio's she shares her hall with...

She didn't allow me to take pictures of her room, so I will now show you a bit of the surrounding.
Here we go for a walk. Isn't it lovely to see father and daughter chatting together. Look at their identical steps and the way they hold their left foot. Unbelievable!

Ongelofelijk.

An older building. I love the lines in the windows and the door.

near a park. You can see that nature needs more sun.

Hia Simone thanks for sharing your daughter's area. I love that older building too- the windows are gorgeous.

Your paper piecing looks really good. The bunny one looks hard with the ear angles.

Lovely colours in your jelly roll sampler block. Gorgeous dots.

Your Sunday Best is beautiful with the pieced border bringing it all together.

Cute house block.

I love what you did with your tulips. I'm sure your parents loved their little foretaste of Spring.

Glad that you liked the card. Where did you get the Pa Dutch pattern? It is wonderful! Love all of your projects and I enjoyed the pics.

Such a lovely table runner, and your quilting is terrific. I love your scnibble's quilt. I only just found the jelly roll blocks and am still trying to decide whether to join in or not. Well done on the paper piecing, I'm sure with more practice you'll love it as much as regular piecing.

I love your spring table runner! They always remind me of my mother as for several years when I was small she planted tulips for my sister and I. Red for my sister and yellow for me.

I'm not familiar with the term gracht. Laura and her father do seem to walk the same, I had noticed that right off in the picture before I read the words. It's always interesting for me to see those things in my kids as well.

Isn't paper piecing fun?! You did a great job and I can't wait to see more!

Pretty table runner. Very nice quilting too. Glad you like your Schnibbles now. It's disappointing to spend time on a project you end up not enjoying.

Looks like another busy and productive week Simone! I love your Tulip table runner - it is really stunning and perfect for spring. I went to Keukenhof many years ago - which was totally amazing - tulips are my favourite flower.

Halloooooo liebe Simone,
